The poems of Robert Frost are my favorites. This painting called to mind the memory of his poem, Original oil, 24x24”, framed in natural wood birch floater. Stopping by a Wood on a Snowy Evening. For us Northerners it also calls us to a time of Hygge - a way of life that embodies a sense of coziness, simplicity, and being present. As our Northern trees drop their leaves and the early snow rests on their branches might they be in a state of hygge? Or, perhaps this tree enlightens us into a state of hygge, to sit by a fire, read a book and enjoy a hot beverage as we all enter hygge! Can you hear the jingle of the bells on the impatient pony “with miles to go before I sleep”?
