Description
The color and print inspiration for this quilt is a sunrise over Lake Superior. The design inspiration is a fractured rock formation found along Duluth's Lakewalk near the Rose garden. This quilt is part of a series, with each quilt a little different in size and composition, depending on which cotton batik fabrics are used and how the design emerges. Each piece of fabric is individually cut and machine-pieced. Additional accents (squares of color) are appliqued. The piece is then machine quilted. The quilt is hung with 3M Command Strips.
